Lake Powell

This last weekend we decided to go to Powell for the day.  We are so lucky that Lake Powell is only and hour and a half away.  My cousin Derek is living with us for the summer to work and his dad's boat happened to be at Powell at the time so he let us and Derek's cousins on the other side of the family take it out for the day.  Thank you!!  Daley wasn't a big fan of the boat when it went fast but she sure had a good time on the beach.  She is our little water dog.  I was worried that she didn't like the water when we first got there but it just took her a little bit to get use to it.  Last year, we went to Vegas and did a lot of swimming as well as here at the little public pool and she loved the water.  We are so glad she still likes it because Denver and I love it!

Here are some scattered photos of our trip.

A little fuzzy family picture at Walmart before we headed out to the lake.

Watching the Duckies!

So lately, Daley has been naughty when I take her with me to do the grocery shopping.  She thinks it is the funnest thing to open EVERYTHING I put in the basket to buy.  Well we stopped by Wal-Mart on our way home from the lake to get some cheaper groceries.  I picked up a bag of sugar and put it in the cart and at the time I thought Daley was being good.  Little did I know that she was actually picking away at the bottom of the bag.  So as I was walking down the next isle, I thought to myself, "Walmart really needs to sweep, it feels like a bunch of sand on the floor!"  Then I hear Denver call out behind me...Megan! Daley opened the sugar!!!  Haha and so we left a long sugar trail that led straight to us.  So we ditched the sugar and went to the other side of the store.  Next time we will be sure to put the sugar somewhere I can watch it!

My Little Blogger

So the other day I got on the blog (since I haven't been on in a while) to update and I noticed that someone was secretly "helping" me keep up on the blog.  I'm pretty sure everyone has seen the cute little posts with pictures and gibberish.  Now you all know when Daley gets a hold of my phone and plays with all the apps, especially the Blogger App.  We all got a kick out of it.  Daley is a lot smarter than we give her credit for.

So I think it's time to give another update on the lives of the Finch's!

April I think was our busiest and funnest month.  We went down to Queen Creek for Sterling's blessing and to go truck shopping for Denver.  We had tons of fun hanging out with the family.  We went to a place in Phoenix that is a glorified Airconditioned McDonald's playground.  Daley had sooo much fun and some of the slides there were scary!  One of them felt like you free fell and I think that was Daley's favorite!  We found Denver a truck that he had been needing for a really long time.  I am so blessed to have Denver as a husband because he has sacrificed not having a truck pretty much since we got pregnant with Daley.  He sold his truck to get us a reliable mommy car for me to get ready for Daley to come.  Then we saved up and got him a truck when she was about 6 months old and we sold it again to buy a smaller car to get better gas milage.  So he has been truckless for over 2 years until now!  He looks so dang good driving it too!  Denver says that I'm spoiled because I got a new car out of our trip too.  Our Altima was having some problems and Nissan wasn't willing to work with us so we decided to trade it in....

Then in the middle of April we got to go down to Thatcher to visit the Platt's!  Denver went on a pack trip with my Dad and Ian along with a huge group of guys from Round Valley.  He had a blast and talks about it a lot still.  Us girls had a girl party and cooked a lot of [it was really good] dang chick food...as my dad would say.  We are so glad we got to hang out with Hayley, Porter, and Jack before they moved out to Tennessee.  We wish we could have got to hang out with Mitch too because we sure are going to miss them!

Then just this past weekend Wade, Nanette, Jennie, Raynie, Kiah, Boston, and Paisley all got to come up to drop Tanner off for the summer.  We had a good time just lounging around, eating pizza, watching movies, and playing cards because that is what we do best up here on the Rez!  Haha.

Denver finished another semester of school at the beginning of May but it was touch-and-go there for a little while because it was a crazy month at the restaurant to say the least.  But he pulled though it with a few really late nights and he got straight A's!  I am so proud of Denver and everything he does for our little family.  Even when work gets stressful, he always comes home and keeps Daley and I entertained with tons of silly jokes and tickles.  We have some company for the summer, Derek and Tanner, and for some reason the subject of Denver and I's love story comes up every once in a while.  It's crazy that after you have been married for three years you don't really think about your beginnings of your relationship as often as you think that you would.  It's been fun talking about all of the cute things that Denver did for me way back in the day.  I thank Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with a best friend as Denver to have as my husband.  I don't ever forget how lucky (blessed) I got, but re-telling our stories is such a good reminder of the little reasons why I fell in love with him in the beginning.  Honestly, I just feel like the luckiest girl ever.

Daley....I can't believe how fast she is growing up.  Everyday she is doing or saying something new.  The other day I was in the bathroom getting ready (her new naughty thing to do is climb up on the kitchen counter and eat bananas or play with my cell phone) and she decided to climb up on the counter.  We keep the front door open exposing the screen door for ventilation for the swamp coolers and we lock it so she doesn't get out.  Well, Denver happens to come home to grab something for work and knocks on the screen door and Daley says "Who is it?!" clear as day!  It was sooo funny.  Everyday she says some new phrase that Denver and I wonder where she picked it up.

I think because Daley has two new entertainers...AKA Tanner and Derek......I will be able to get some of my projects done.  Updating the blog was at the top of my list so I'm glad I'm getting a start!  I have a feeling we are going to have a great time this summer so hopefully I will do good and keep the blog updated!  Wish me luck!

We Love Visitors!

These past couple of months we have had lots of visitors! Grandma, Pop, Aunt Madi, Nana, Papa, Blake, Martha, Riley, and Tess all got to come for a time. We didn't do much other than eat pizza, take scenic drives to Monument Valley, and lounged around. It's nice to be able to chill away from the fast track world every once in a while and we think our visitors get just that when they come up to visit us!

Since Tess and Riley were here we decided we had better get a cousin picture in the bath tub! They had way too much fun...

This isn't the greatest picture but we got another puppy because Blue ran away. He is our rez dog and we love him. His name is Chief.....Our friends in our ward found him out by the horse pasture with no mom....so she brought him home and we happened to go over to their house and I fell in love with him because he was so chill....haha he's gotten hyper since then but he's still a good dog when you spend time with him.
