These are all pictures that Denver or I took of these places in Northern Arizona....we live in such a beautiful State!
Daley Turned 2!
Wow! Can you believe that our little Daley girl has turned 2!! Time flies way too fast! Since her last birthday, she has become obsessed with The Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. So we decided to have a FBB party for her....(update, just in the past couple of weeks...she has decided that Peppa Pig is her favorite now!) I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because I was busy talking....haha we had the pleasure of having theTompkinsons over for her party. Thanks to Denver and the boys we got some pictures snapped here and there. We had cupcakes and hot dogs for her birthday meal because those are still her favorite and she doesnt get them all too often.
Daley is 29.5 lbs. and tall for her age...I can't remember how tall right now (she's asleep right now) but she is in the 75% for her height. Denver and I have been buying 2T for her the past 3 months and her shirts are already getting short on her! I can't believe how fast she is growing....I though she would be in 2T until at least the fall in time to get her warmer clothes!
She is talking a lot still....she still has her own little language that she uses to talk on her phone but she is learning new words everyday. She jumps really well and can drive her little trike around the house. She is quite the swimmer which you will see here in another post coming soon! She is such a good helper around the house. It is so fun having her push the wet clothes from the washer into the dryer, clean up her toys, sweep the floors, make the beds, sort the quarters and tokens from the restaurant, help with the dishes, and folding the laundry. We are attempting to potty train her. We haven't had any successes though but we will be doing a potty training boot camp here in the next week so we will see how it goes.
Daley is quite the monkey too! Have you ever seen a 2 year old do a pull up? haha Maybe I have but I don't see it all too often. Daley loves to pull herself up under the table and swing just dangling from the table. We go to the park quite a bit and just in the last few times we went she can do almost everything there is to do on the jungle jims. She climbs up to the tallest place to go and slides down the steepest slides! She also hangs off of tall places (some of which are about 6 feet high) on the jungle jim and swings out like she does the kitchen table....singing "WEEE WEEEE WEEEE!!" All of this with ZERO help from Denver or I. I don't have any pictures of her on the really tall slides but they will be coming soon.
Most of everything she does and learns is from watching other kiddos, She learns so much when we visit the cousins or the cousins come to visit us. She loves to watch and play with other kids whether she knows them or not. The other night was our ward's Pioneer Day Celebration and we just sat and watched her talk and play with a bunch of different kids while playing on the jungle jim. She wanted nothing to do with Denver and I.
Daley has her weeks when she wants to be naughty but she can sure be a sweetheart when she wants to be. Denver and I love to sit and watch her shows with her as she snuggles with us with her blanky. We love watching her take care of her babies. We love hearing her secrets that she has to tell us. And we love watching her play in the yard counting her rocks. Oh yeah she counts to 3 pretty well and she is working on counting to 10 right now....we will be counting and she counts to 3 and then she sits and waits until it's time to say 10 and she yells it most of the time. haha. We are so proud of our little mommy!

4th of July
This year we stayed in town for the 4th and let me tell ya it was a busy one! We didn't really celebrate a whole lot...Daley and I caught the end of the parade. We hear that there are some pretty awesome events that go on around up here for the 4th but since Denver worked all day until about 7pm we were too tired to get out and check things out. I actually painted our living room all day and barely finished right before Denver got home. We settled down and grilled some burgers and had homemade french fries. Next year we are planning to get out and do something more fun than just work and paint on the 4th!
Daley and I got to make a random trip to Flagstaff to meet up with Pop, Grandma, Madi, Papa and Nana Platt! I was so nice to be able to meet up and spend the day with them shopping! Papa and Pop loved every second of it.....sitting in the comfy chairs in the mall! haha After shopping for a little bit we decided to go out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays...since it's my Dad and I's favorite place to eat together! It was so nice to be able to spend the day with them. We miss them so much it was hard to say goodbye! A day just isn't long enough to spend with them!
Danelle and Crystal also came up so visit us this summer! Daley had tons of fun showing them all of her cool tricks. It was so nice to have a girl party since Daley and I have been overrun by boys this summer! haha These girls are some of my very dearest best friends! I will always have a special place in my heart for them...

Lake Powell
This last weekend we decided to go to Powell for the day. We are so lucky that Lake Powell is only and hour and a half away. My cousin Derek is living with us for the summer to work and his dad's boat happened to be at Powell at the time so he let us and Derek's cousins on the other side of the family take it out for the day. Thank you!! Daley wasn't a big fan of the boat when it went fast but she sure had a good time on the beach. She is our little water dog. I was worried that she didn't like the water when we first got there but it just took her a little bit to get use to it. Last year, we went to Vegas and did a lot of swimming as well as here at the little public pool and she loved the water. We are so glad she still likes it because Denver and I love it!
Here are some scattered photos of our trip.
Waking up from her little nap under the red umbrella.

A little fuzzy family picture at Walmart before we headed out to the lake.

Watching the Duckies!
So lately, Daley has been naughty when I take her with me to do the grocery shopping. She thinks it is the funnest thing to open EVERYTHING I put in the basket to buy. Well we stopped by Wal-Mart on our way home from the lake to get some cheaper groceries. I picked up a bag of sugar and put it in the cart and at the time I thought Daley was being good. Little did I know that she was actually picking away at the bottom of the bag. So as I was walking down the next isle, I thought to myself, "Walmart really needs to sweep, it feels like a bunch of sand on the floor!" Then I hear Denver call out behind me...Megan! Daley opened the sugar!!! Haha and so we left a long sugar trail that led straight to us. So we ditched the sugar and went to the other side of the store. Next time we will be sure to put the sugar somewhere I can watch it!

My Little Blogger
So the other day I got on the blog (since I haven't been on in a while) to update and I noticed that someone was secretly "helping" me keep up on the blog. I'm pretty sure everyone has seen the cute little posts with pictures and gibberish. Now you all know when Daley gets a hold of my phone and plays with all the apps, especially the Blogger App. We all got a kick out of it. Daley is a lot smarter than we give her credit for.
So I think it's time to give another update on the lives of the Finch's!
April I think was our busiest and funnest month. We went down to Queen Creek for Sterling's blessing and to go truck shopping for Denver. We had tons of fun hanging out with the family. We went to a place in Phoenix that is a glorified Airconditioned McDonald's playground. Daley had sooo much fun and some of the slides there were scary! One of them felt like you free fell and I think that was Daley's favorite! We found Denver a truck that he had been needing for a really long time. I am so blessed to have Denver as a husband because he has sacrificed not having a truck pretty much since we got pregnant with Daley. He sold his truck to get us a reliable mommy car for me to get ready for Daley to come. Then we saved up and got him a truck when she was about 6 months old and we sold it again to buy a smaller car to get better gas milage. So he has been truckless for over 2 years until now! He looks so dang good driving it too! Denver says that I'm spoiled because I got a new car out of our trip too. Our Altima was having some problems and Nissan wasn't willing to work with us so we decided to trade it in....
Then in the middle of April we got to go down to Thatcher to visit the Platt's! Denver went on a pack trip with my Dad and Ian along with a huge group of guys from Round Valley. He had a blast and talks about it a lot still. Us girls had a girl party and cooked a lot of [it was really good] dang chick food...as my dad would say. We are so glad we got to hang out with Hayley, Porter, and Jack before they moved out to Tennessee. We wish we could have got to hang out with Mitch too because we sure are going to miss them!
Then just this past weekend Wade, Nanette, Jennie, Raynie, Kiah, Boston, and Paisley all got to come up to drop Tanner off for the summer. We had a good time just lounging around, eating pizza, watching movies, and playing cards because that is what we do best up here on the Rez! Haha.
Denver finished another semester of school at the beginning of May but it was touch-and-go there for a little while because it was a crazy month at the restaurant to say the least. But he pulled though it with a few really late nights and he got straight A's! I am so proud of Denver and everything he does for our little family. Even when work gets stressful, he always comes home and keeps Daley and I entertained with tons of silly jokes and tickles. We have some company for the summer, Derek and Tanner, and for some reason the subject of Denver and I's love story comes up every once in a while. It's crazy that after you have been married for three years you don't really think about your beginnings of your relationship as often as you think that you would. It's been fun talking about all of the cute things that Denver did for me way back in the day. I thank Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with a best friend as Denver to have as my husband. I don't ever forget how lucky (blessed) I got, but re-telling our stories is such a good reminder of the little reasons why I fell in love with him in the beginning. Honestly, I just feel like the luckiest girl ever.
Daley....I can't believe how fast she is growing up. Everyday she is doing or saying something new. The other day I was in the bathroom getting ready (her new naughty thing to do is climb up on the kitchen counter and eat bananas or play with my cell phone) and she decided to climb up on the counter. We keep the front door open exposing the screen door for ventilation for the swamp coolers and we lock it so she doesn't get out. Well, Denver happens to come home to grab something for work and knocks on the screen door and Daley says "Who is it?!" clear as day! It was sooo funny. Everyday she says some new phrase that Denver and I wonder where she picked it up.
I think because Daley has two new entertainers...AKA Tanner and Derek......I will be able to get some of my projects done. Updating the blog was at the top of my list so I'm glad I'm getting a start! I have a feeling we are going to have a great time this summer so hopefully I will do good and keep the blog updated! Wish me luck!
