Mt. Graham
End of August we decided to go up to see the cabin. Some cousins of mine put in a loft above the bedroom in the cabin so we had to go and check it out. Well Denver and I hadn't seen it yet. We stopped by KFC and grabbed a bucket of chicken as a tradition of the Platt Family since my Dad was a little boy. We drove up the windy road up to Turkey Flat to the cabin. Its really cool to think these cabins are 100 years old! I have so many great childhood memories growing up here during the summertime. We loved going down to Cow Canyon and playing in the tunnel which was a little scary! I also remember eating chicken noodle soup and all of us cousins would pass around the salt and pepper a thousand times adding a little bit everytime it came around. I also remember my Dad always telling us scary bear stories and being scared they were going to break into the cabin during the night. Us cousins always had fun building forts, playing cards (Nurtz was the favorite game), making crowns out of wild flowers and sticky weed, playing knife games with the old man next door, swinging in the huge tractor swing, sliding down slide rock, and chocolate fudge when Grandma B would come visit.
We sure enjoyed the cooler weather and spent the afternoon reminiscing!

A'go'ne' Kayenta...You will be missed!
Wow it's been a while since I blogged last. Well we left off at June last post so I will start off with July. In July Blake and Martha and their family came up to visit us for the 4th of July. We had fun going to the parade which Daley got scared of the fire trucks and didn't want to go anywhere near the road. But she loves fire trucks!
We did some swimming and we went to the park to party after our BBQ.
Here are some pictures of the cousins!
We watched the fireworks from our house in the back of Dad's truck which was really fun! The kids had a ball.
Then we celebrated Daley's 3rd Birthday! Her favorite color is purple so she had a purple cake (inside) and purple balloons. We had so much fun to get to celebrate it with Riley and Tess! Daley has had all of her birthdays in Kayenta so it was fun to have kids her same age there. It's usually us adults and the Daley cousins that are there which is fun but I think she loved having the kids there this time now that she is getting older.
It's a sad story but we decided it was time to move to explore new careers. Denver decided what he wanted to go to school for and we found EAC has a good progam in computer networking. He had been doing school online but we decided jumping in and doing in-class learning would be better and faster for Denver to complete. We had tons of mixed feelings about leaving Kayenta. We made so many good, close friends there and we loved working at the pizza store and in our church callings. We felt at home there but, it was time to move to finish school. Still today if I talk to anyone about Kayenta I have a hard time holding back the tears. We miss everything about it. But we know Heavenly Father is blessing our lives with our decision. Thatcher is where we are suppose to be now.
Here are some pictures of our dear friends we left in Kayenta! We had a ward party before we left. Here are a few we caught on camera We miss you!
Here are Daley's best friends Emma and Ellee. Daley calls Ellee on her play phone still wanting to talk to her. We need to come up and visit everyone soon!
Here is a picture of the family on the day we moved. :(
The last load.
We miss you Kayenta! You changed our lives for the good and you will never be forgotten!
