Saturdays

This last Saturday, Denver and I were woken up by a phone call from good 'ol cousin Roger telling us that he just got a call from the Sheriff telling him that the horses had gotten out and were up on the road to Fry Mesa. Denver and I hurried and got dressed and then Roger and Chad came and picked us up to go and catch the horses. Long story short, the horses ended up running back onto the horse pasture and we didn't have to catch any of them. We decided that the horses probably just got really hungry and remembered where they got fed everyday. So for the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon, Denver and I got to spend some time with Roger and Chad finding supplies and fixing the fence. Denver loved every second of it! I really enjoyed it too but I got kinda overheated sitting out in the sun. Being pregnant is really weird....I found a Gatorade in the ice chest and sat in the shade of the Ranger to cool off. I was just fine after I found the shade. I really enjoyed seeing Denver fix fence for the first time! Fixing fence is right up his alley because he did it for many summers working up on the ranch. I know he misses working up there. I feel bad we didn't bring the camera for the morning to show the finished product, but man....he sure knows how to fix fence! I love my mountain man!

(Just on a little side note...I've decided that I like mustard. We ate some hamburgers after we fixed the fence and they had mustard on them. I really didn't mind mustard in the first place but I would never request mustard to be put on my hamburger. But after Saturday, I'm pretty sure I'll be putting mustard on ALL my hamburgers! I'm getting so old.... :))

After we finished the fence Denver and I went home and decided it was time to do a date night. We haven't had one in a while, so we went up to Walmart and bought some hot dogs, chips, and sodas. Then we got the Prowler and headed up to the horse pasture. We were worried that our donkey Ira Hays was going to come find us and eat our hot dogs but he didn't thank goodness! Here are some pictures of our date night at the horse pasture! We love random Saturdays like these!

I Chopped It!

When Denver and I were up in Eagar, we got a little crazy and decided that it was time for me to chop my hair off. I've had my hair long for seven years and I was way past overdue for a new look. Denver was surprisingly, extremely excited to see what I looked like with short hair. That got me really excited to do it! Thanks to Aunt Kelli and her amazing talent she helped us out! I absolutely love the new hair cut! I'm really enjoying how fast I can do it now. My brother told me that I'm ready to have a baby now because I've got the "mom" look and it looks good on me. Thanks Matt! I feel like I'm getting a lot closer to being ready, now that I have a nice and cool hair cut for the long summer ahead!

Snowmobiling!

Denver and I took a trip up to Eagar for the weekend and we had a blast! Believe it or not we got to stay with Blake and Martha at their house for the very first time since we have been married! We pretty much partied all weekend long with staying up late talking, a baby shower, and snowmobiling. I have decided that baby showers are so much more fun if you are pregnant. Martha and I went to Joelle's baby shower and we had a blast! Then on Monday, we were invited to go snowmobiling on the infamous Foote's snowmobiles. The weather was REALLY COLD but it was worth it. It has been years since I've been on one and it was actually Denver's first time riding one. Here is the evidence.....

Thank you Blake and Martha for the amazing weekend!

One Year of Bliss.....Forever More to Come

I can still remember the night, during a beginning of the year-high school dance my junior year when Denver and I told each other we liked each other to the song "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams. I remember wishing on every shooting star, everytime the clock turned to 3:33, 11:11, etc. and every birthday, that Denver and I would get married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple someday. Sometimes I still can't believe that our dreams finally came true....

Denver and I have had some amazing times growing up together and I know those times will only get better. Here are a few pictures of us in our beginnings as well as now, just to get a glimpse of our story.
Sorry the pictures are scattered. I was having a hard time moving them around.

I just love this picture.

This is the place where Denver and I got officially engaged. It was one of the most magical moments in our lives. There was no ring involved, no person in sight, no noise other than the wind blowing in the trees, it was just Denver and I, the sunset, and a gorgeous view. All of those memories of having an overwhelming feeling of needing to be with him, forever, rushed over me. Then, all of a sudden Denver looks into my eyes and said, "Meg, I wasn't planning on asking you this today but I can't help myself.....Will you marry me?" It was so beautiful and perfect. It couldn't of been any better. It was everything I imagined. Denver and I took these pictures before the big snow storms this winter.

This was just part of the gorgeous view...Including my Huckleberry.

These are a couple of my favorite engagement pictures. I particularly love this one because I think it captures Denver's funny side. Denver is always telling me Tall Tales that I believe every time. After I figure out that he's just pulling my leg, I act like I didn't think it was very funny....but it doesn't last very long because we just bust up laughing. Denver is also an amazing dancer....when he is really happy and hiper, he'll do this move where he walks on his feet really fast and he moves from side to side really smoothly. It's hard to explain and I'm sure only he can do it so you have never seen it before. Let me just tell you....it is hilarious. It makes my day everytime and we always end up laughing our heads off. Denver is always making me laugh. It is surprising all of the different things he comes up with to make me laugh. Denver is just plain AMAZING! I'm sure in this picture that he told me one of his Tall Tales that I believed and we ended up laughing our heads off.

I love this picture too...because Denver just looks SO good in it.

This is one of my favorites from our honeymoon in San Diego. Again....Denver said something hilarious.

Denver and I got to spend our birthdays together for the first time EVER pretty much ever since we have been together. They were the best birthdays ever....

Here are a few pictures of us when we were dating in high school. This was the day date of my senior prom. Denver and I only went to two formal dances together to avoid dangerous steady dating. The first one was homecoming my junior year which was actually our very first date together because Denver had just turned 16 a couple of weeks before. Yes, I am older...9 months to be exact. This picture is one of my favorites too.....

I love this one too....Denver and I got to spend some good times together snowboarding. We actually held hands for the first time six months after we told each other we liked each other. We were really slow movers which I am so grateful for. It made our relationship that much sweeter. We were on a ski trip to Utah and we were watching a movie...a really silly one that I won't mention....and I fell asleep sitting next to Denver. I woke up because I had gotten uncomfortable in the movie theater seats. Unknowingly, I must have put my hand on my leg when I fell asleep which was right under the arm rest that Denver's arm was on. It was right before I fell back asleep when I felt a tap on the top of my hand that sent a shockwave through my whole entire body. I opened my eyes to see Denver's hand lightly touching the top of mine. And of course we eventually held hands but it took through the rest of the movie to do it. That is definitely one of my favorite firsts.....

This is just one of my favorites....we took this after a choir concert when I came home to visit from EAC. I really missed this guy! I didn't even want to imagine what it would be like when he left on his mission when we took this picture because I knew they would be the hardest years of my life.....and they were. But I learned so much and I don't regret that.

Here is the famous engagement ring! He did so good! It was exactly what I wanted.....(I did show him a picture of what I wanted long before he got the ring of my dreams...and he remembered!)

This is taken on spring break when I came to visit home. My mom and I were one our way home when I got a phone call from Denver inviting me to go see him at work. So as soon as we got home I jumped in my car and ran up to the job site. I called Denver on the way and he told me to promise him that I would kiss him when I got there. So when I got there he stopped the Bobcat and I marched straight up there and before he could say anything I gave him a BIG KISS..... I don't know if you can tell but my face is pretty dirty in this picture....just like Denver's. (It wasn't even a little bit dirty when I drove up.)

Denver and I have had the time of our lives this first year....it's crazy how you can fall more and more in love everyday. I knew I love him so much the first time I told him I loved him (Way back in October of my senior year)....now we've told each other millions of times and it still never gets old. It actually means more to me now than it ever did in the past....and it meant so much to me way back when.

Just to recap our first year married.....we have a couple of great accomplishments! We have accomplished to see each other everyday since we have been married. We have not been apart for more than 24 hours. We have spent the night apart only once but we saw each other the morning before and the evening when he returned from hunting. We also have accomplished to not bring home any cute new puppies....if you know me, you know that if i hear about cute, free puppies, I'll bring one home. I have heard about a few free puppies that I really wanted but I did not get one. Denver is so proud of me! He told me we can't get any puppies until we have four kids....but I think I can arrange something to where we can get one a little sooner than that....
Denver and I started our journey together in Flagstaff which we loved, and we lived there for nine months. We then got the most exciting news that we have ever gotten....we found out we were 5 weeks pregnant, only 2 days before we moved down to Thatcher. Here is a picture of our little one at about 11 weeks. We will be find out if IT is a BOY or a GIRL here around March 31st....We can't wait!

To celebrate out anniversary, we decided to go to Tucson for the day on Saturday. We got there and ate lunch at Long John Silver's which reminded us of eating seafood in San Diego. Of course it wasn't near as good as Anthony's right on the bay of San Diego....but the atmosphere (the pictures) reminded us of our honeymoon. Then we did a little shopping here and there, and later went and watched a movie. When we got out of the movie we thought about spending the night. We talked about it a few days before we went and decided not to....but we thought when we were there that we would be crazy not to....it would probably be a long time until we could here in the future. So we decided to spend the night. Here is a picture of us after dream shopping at Target for our baby. Shopping for baby stuff is so fun, way more fun than shopping for yourself!

16 Weeks

Here is a picture of me at 16 weeks. I was blushing because there were a couple of comedians present that were cracking jokes about bellies. I won't name names but they are why I have such an awkward look on my face. Denver wouldn't take another one for me...he probably enjoyed seeing me blush, I guess I don't do it enough anymore...JK Oh...and we will probably find out what we are having on March 31st. We'll keep you posted on the exact date when we get it....but I'm pretty positive it will be on the 31st. YAY! We can't wait!

We are Pregnant!

Denver and I found out we were expecting way back in December right around my birthday. It took us a while to find out whether or not we were pregnant but to put it in a nut shell, we got a blood test and an ultrasound that said, with hard evidence we were. We were so excited! We found out just in the nick of time before my parents came up to bring a load of our stuff down to Thatcher. They got there early one evening and I had plenty of times to tell them the good news.......but I just couldn't! I knew they were going to be so stinkin' excited but I just didn't know how to say it. So when we got home from shopping, I pulled Denver aside and told him that I just couldn't say it. (Pitafull huh?) So Denver, being the best and most couragous man that I know, told MY PARENTS the great and wonderful news. And of course my mom squealed with excitement and they were so excited to be grandparents again. Just a little side note....I am still a little shaky about the whole telling people that we are pregnant. I love talking about it but I just don't know how to bring it up, so you might have to help me out. I never imagined that something as exciting as this would be difficult. I'm pretty sure when I actually look pregnant I won't have a problem but I still have quite a few weeks before that happens. Pregnancy has been very good to me thank goodness. The worst of it was around Christmas time, but even then....it wasn't bad.

Here in the next few weeks Denver and I will be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl and we can't wait! Denver and I have had the opportunity to hear the baby's heartbeat and at the last appointment we got to hear it kick. We were listening to the heartbeat and the doctor was moving the sonigram around and all of a sudden we hear this loud bang. I thought the doctor put the machine on my tummy to fast but she asked...did you hear that? Denver and I were like "Yeah, what was that?" She said that was the baby kicking! It was so cool. Denver even recorded it on his phone. I only have one pregnancy picture and I was only 11 weeks. I'll have another picture here on Sunday if we can remember.

Christmas 2009

Denver and I moved over Christmas Break from Flagstaff just in the nick of time before the HUGE snow storms came through. We loaded our things and headed down the mountain to Thatcher. We dropped off our stuff under my grandpa's shop and headed back up to Payson where we had the Platt Family Christmas Party. We had a great time there getting to see all of our cousins we don't get to see very often. It was great seeing everyone again!
Then Denver and I packed up Sunday night and headed over to the other side of the mountain to Eagar where we would stay for the next week and a half. We had a great time over there for Christmas. Everyone was there but Jennie and her family which we missed! We really wished they could have been there. We kept thinking that they might just surprise us. But, they didn't. We did however get quite a surprise late one evening, Raynie and Matt and their sweet little family surprised us! They couldn't come down at first because of a big snow storm and we thought they wouldn't be able to come at all but, we were surprised! Denver and I haven't been the best photographers for the past three months but here are a few!
